We came from Florida for a funeral, and this location worked well for visiting family. The price was reasonable for one night, and the staff were friendly, so the stay was pleasant in some ways. The lobby had a strong urine smell, and I saw a man sleeping beneath the stairwell, which made me uneasy about safety. Worse, there were roaches and bed bugs. That level of cleanliness needs immediate attention so guests can feel safe and comfortable. I hope they address these problems soon, because the property could offer a much better stay.
We only booked a room because our hot water heater at home was broken, and we needed somewhere to shower. We explained that at check-in. When we came back the next day, the toiletries we’d left in the shower had been thrown out. The front desk apologized when we told them, and we asked them to let the next shift know not to service the room or discard our things. The two people there laughed and suggested we use the deadbolt. I didn’t do that, since I’d already explained again that we weren’t actually staying in the room. We had to go buy replacement items. I was told the manager would call, but it’s been a full day and I still haven’t heard anything.
It’s a peaceful spot in a small town, with cute thrift stores and restaurants no more than about a 15-minute walk away. There’s also a gorgeous open field or farm along the property line. Expect bugs and little critters, especially after dark, so be cautious and considerate. We found the rooms really clean, with soft sheets and a temperature that felt just right. The staff are amazing, very sweet, and go out of their way to accommodate us. I’m traveling with my two-year-old, who’s vocal when something bothers him, and he hasn’t complained once.
Never coming back. They charge far too much for what you get, and the room I was given was unfinished and filthy. There was mildew everywhere, along with bugs and roaches. The towels and sheets belonged in the trash. The iron was ragged and didn’t work, and neither did the blow dryer. This was a horrible experience, and the price doesn’t match the service or the hotel.
The staff were nice, but I skipped the continental breakfast and wouldn’t stay in room 211 again. At around $70, the price was right for what you get, though almost all the linens were stained, even if they might have been clean. I asked for pillowcases without stains, then took off the originals and found the pillow itself looked like someone had had severe night sweats. The room and bathroom corners were really dirty. The bathroom door trim had a big chunk missing, the front door safety lock didn’t work, and the blanket had cigarette burns. I really hope this wasn’t supposed to be a remodeled room.
