Best Western Dothan Inn & Suites

The staff were polite, but management should have handled this much better. The bathroom was disgusting, with hair all over the sink and toilet, mold, mildew, and dirt around the tub, a dirt ring inside it, and roaches by the mirror. I have pictures. They let us shower in another room and said I’d get extra points, but I never did. Do better!

We got a room the same day, and the lot for guests was well lit. Breakfast was hot and tasty with plenty of choices. The staff were courteous, the room was clean and big, and it’s pet friendly and close to groceries, shops, and restaurants. The shower didn’t work and drained slowly, but we didn’t mention it. The room smelled a little, though it was bearable after a long day of travel. The hotel had great accommodations and we had no major complaints or problems.

We felt completely unwelcome and were very disappointed. We booked a double queen with a pullout sofa because it was advertised as pet friendly. When we arrived, we found out pets were only allowed in first floor rooms, and the only room left was a king. We had to buy a second room, where there was urine in the shower. At breakfast, our small dogs sat right beside us at the very edge of the dining room, bothering nobody. The server glared at us for several minutes, then got a marker and wrote “NO PETS PLEASE!!” on the breakfast sign multiple times right in front of us. Between the unclear pet rules, the urine in the extra room we had to purchase, the general lack of cleanliness, and the rude breakfast staff, the stay was a letdown.

My family had booked rooms weeks ahead, choosing this hotel because it was supposed to welcome pets. They arrived late from out of town with medium or large dogs under 45 lbs, non-aggressive breeds, and were refused their rooms because the dogs were called “too big.” We couldn’t find any size limits or rules anywhere on the website or in the hotel information. My family had to find another place at midnight after being turned away and left out in the cold. Completely unacceptable, the worst service ever. Past reviews apparently raised the lack of clear pet policies, and the hotel said it would clarify them, but still hasn’t. It seems they may have no intention of doing so. Pet owners, call ahead to ask whether they’ll accept your particular pet, or stay knowing they could turn you away. This hotel isn’t welcoming to all pets, only some.
