Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Douglas

I arrived late and went straight to bed, then found two huge roaches and another bug in the morning. My husband killed one. I showed a photo at the desk and asked for the manager. They said the manager would be in at 3 and call me, but nothing happened. I called at 5, was told they’d call the next day, and still heard nothing after three more calls. I contacted Corp, and they reached out to the hotel, but I still haven’t heard back. So gross, and not what you expect from Marriott.

This was our third stay, and we’ll be back. Our room was super clean and smelled great. The staff went out of their way to keep us comfortable, helped with anything we asked for, and made sure our group stayed together and everyone was taken care of. We had a fantastic stay and loved it.

The lobby was spotless and really nice, and we were happy to find complimentary gluten-free blueberry muffins in the morning. The crustless spinach quiche was delicious too. Everything about the place felt nice.

I’m glad I didn’t spend 65,000 points on this stay. For $220 a night at the Marriott in Douglas, Georgia, I expected more, especially in a rural area. The digital key wouldn’t open the outside door, the showers were barely lukewarm, and the towels were so rough they’d be too rough even for a dog shelter. It wasn’t crowded, so I still don’t understand the price. This experience is pushing me further toward Hilton properties.
