La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Douglasville

I travel here often for work and have tried other hotels, but I wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The room and lobby are clean, the location feels safe and is well lit, and there’s adequate parking. Breakfast is nice, and the beds, pillows, and other linens are perfect.

I would’ve rated the service a 5 until the older woman on third-shift guest service was extremely rude about reactivating my room key. She could clearly see that my room was documented as paid in full for one night, but kept asking questions that had nothing to do with it. Reactivating the key should’ve been straightforward. Unacceptable!

We reserved two nights for $232, and check-in at 1 a.m. was fine. After we settled in, we saw something crawling on the bed, a ladybug. Then we noticed dozens more all over the ceiling. It was so uncomfortable that we packed up and told Amy at the front desk we were leaving at about 3 a.m. She said to call in the morning about a refund for both nights. I called, but no manager was available, and they told me to call again the next morning. That night, around 11, my bank started notifying me of a $478 charge on top of the $232 hold. CAROL answered when I called. She said she was charging my card because nobody had told her I’d checked out. I asked why she was charging $478 when I was already waiting for a refund of the original $232. She said she couldn’t tell me and would need to research it, then told me to call in the morning. That wasn’t acceptable. I just wanted her to look up my information and explain the charges. Instead she got defensive and angry, then hung up. I called back several times and she didn’t answer. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask why I’m being charged triple for a stay I left, while still waiting for a refund. I don’t know what needed researching. I feel like I’m being given the runaround. I’ve now been told to call back in the morning three times. I shouldn’t have to call La Quinta three or four times to fix something that wasn’t my fault. I’m making a formal complaint to higher-ups about Carol’s TERRIBLE customer service.

The last stay here was pleasant, but this visit wasn’t quiet at all. Dogs barked in the morning and doors kept slamming for some reason. We came hoping for a nice, QUIET stay and didn’t get one this time.
