I love being able to watch the horses from the 10th floor. One morning the sunrise from my room was beautiful, and even the little bit of snow was lovely to see. The hotel stays quiet no matter which floor I'm on, and they accommodate me well. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the bathrooms are nice. The rooms look elegant, though the furniture feels old and dated. When I'm in Dover DE, I usually stay at Bally’s Casino Hotel. I like having the casino inside and being close to shops and restaurants. Weekday rates are usually around $60-$70, though prices change by night, and I think that's reasonable. The rooms are always clean. Room service maids are pleasant and helpful, while the hotel staff at the desk can be hit or miss. I've met wonderful people like Elizabeth, as well as some who weren't very friendly. The TV channels aren't great, and the parking lot is always packed. Still, I like the hotel and would recommend it.

The room was clean, the casino had a fun vibe, and the location was convenient. But the shower pressure was so intense it felt like a power washer, and there wasn't a microwave anywhere. Cold casino fries at midnight definitely weren't what I had in mind. The Sugar Factory looked cute and very Instagram-worthy, but the sweets tasted like Play-Doh, more kindergarten art project than dessert. I'd maybe stay again, but I'd bring snacks, emotional support, and shower protection. Turn down the water, add a microwave, and find candy that tastes edible, and this place could be a winner.

We don't gamble, but we've stayed here several times because the room price is hard to beat. Check-in is simple, and parking is manageable. The rooms are closer to a midrange chain hotel than a resort, and the on-site amenities aren't convenient. In the morning, it's quicker to go out to Starbucks than to walk through the casino just to find a cup. On our most recent visit, both of us thought the mattress was awful. It sagged, we could feel the coils, and it seemed close to worn out. There are no in-room microwaves, and the food on-site costs a lot, though there are other places fairly close by.

The staff are wonderful, but the casino has really gone downhill. We get free rooms, so I hate to complain, but this past weekend was rough. The toilet had brown rings, the room smelled moldy, and the TV remote only worked when it felt like it. The fridge was broken again, so we left our drinks by the window. It was 8 degrees outside, and at least they stayed cold there. We arrived Friday and left late Sunday morning. The hallways smelled like pot, and a dirty tissue sat by the elevator the whole time. This place is nowhere near a resort. It's as dirty and disgusting as the casino in Chester. I guess with a free room I got what I paid for, but it's a shame for guests who pay.

The atmosphere was nice, and it felt new, friendly, and safe. There were lots of restaurants, and the snack bar had great food, drinks, and desserts. Staying at the nearby hilton2home was a nice break from the snow.
