After an eight-hour drive from Maine, I was hoping to get a room, but the entrance doors wouldn’t open and there was no sign explaining the problem. My son needed the restroom, so we managed to slide the door open by hand enough for him to get inside. The gentleman at the counter told him that he considered it breaking and entering and ordered him off the property. I’ll never try one of your hotels again.

The room itself was great and clean, but housekeeping was unacceptable. I checked in Monday and didn’t get the room cleaned or replenished until Saturday. I understand they only do housekeeping every other day, but I’d requested daily service. That’s six days without housekeeping.

Our room door was standing open when we arrived, and there was dried blood in the bathroom, even on the shower curtain. Based on check-in, it seems the property either didn’t clean the room or didn’t inspect it before assigning it. Blood is a biohazard and may be infectious.

My latest stay at Home2 Suites Hilton in Dover was disappointing after several work trips there. The room assignment was also a problem: I’d asked for the 3rd or 4th floor, but got the noisy 2nd floor, where it kept me up all night. When I asked for a manager, Monique said she was the front desk manager, then later told me Nancy wasn’t available. At check-in, Monique asked for my credit card and implied there might be fraud, even though my company had already paid and I only needed a card for incidentals. I explained I’d stayed there many times, but she said she’d never seen me and accused me of being rude when I tried to clarify. The whole exchange felt unprofessional and out of line for hospitality. The staff’s attitude didn’t match the service I expect from Hilton.
