Quality Inn Downey

Awful! My three kids and I stay at Quality Inn hotels pretty often, but this one was terrible. In the first room, there was a huge roach on its back on the bathroom floor, legs waving. The sheets and pillowcases were stained. I took pictures and showed the manager, who moved us to another room. There were dried blood stains all over that floor, a broken door lock, and marks on the curtains and lampshades. We took more photos and asked for a refund. He refused, saying there were no refunds or cancellations. When I asked if he'd want his own family to stay in rooms like those, he said he had to call his manager, who wouldn't answer after hours. He wanted us to wait in the car for two hours while he tried. I stopped payment and went to another Quality Inn. The photos are from rooms 202 and 331. I'll be talking to the health department, the state, and the BBB tomorrow. Save your money and go to either Montebello or Rosemead.

Nasty! This has to be one of the five worst hotels I've stayed in. My room was in unacceptable, unsanitary condition, so I checked out right away. And don't forget the staff member lying out in the reception area.

The nonstop noise made it impossible to rest. All night, every 45 to 60 seconds, I heard three beeps, like a smoke detector with a dead battery. I was next to what seemed to be a storage or laundry room. I called twice, at midnight and 1230, and was told the sound was attached to the laundry and would stop after the cycle. It never did. Then someone blasted techno music from about 12:30-5:30 AM. I called about that too, but nothing changed for the next five hours. The room looked clean at first, but it was shabby, with old carpet, lampshades, and paint, plus a cigarette-burn-sized hole in the sheets. Staff were polite but completely ineffective. Maybe it's your dream if you want to party all night without management bothering you. You can have your own little EDC in one room, with a free contact high just walking through the parking lot.

Terrible. We've had good experiences with Choice before, but stay away from this one. Our first room had no heat and a fridge that didn't work. In the next room, the shower wouldn't work, there was no soap or shampoo, and it smelled of marijuana and cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking hotel. We waited hours for the shower to be fixed, which threw off our plans for the day. When my key failed, the manager blamed me even though I had nothing to do with it. Smoke kept drifting into the room overnight with the windows closed. There were red carpet stains that we think might be blood, what looked like fecal matter on bathroom pictures that I wouldn't touch, and sticky doors, phone, and other surfaces. The front desk person was way too scary to talk to. I hope management sees this and refunds us. The reservation was under a different name, but you can contact us for that information.
