Extended Stay America Atlanta Gwinnett Place

The $80 I spent felt wasted. I nearly left without even asking for a refund. I booked because this place showed the highest rating nearby, but the room key barely worked and the hygiene was poor. The hallway and elevator had an unbearable smell, and I couldn’t tell whether the rooms were being maintained properly. I’ve stayed in many hotels and can’t understand how this one is rated three stars. Management needs to take proper control of the property. Worst hotel experience of my life. Do not stay here under any circumstances.

The room I got was falling apart, though the bed was clean, and that was about the only good thing. Before I was checked in, I saw a man waiting at the front counter for an hour and 15 minutes. He’d called reservations and the general manager, but neither could help. Someone eventually arrived 30 minutes later and started checking us in without an apology, as if the delay were normal. I paid $93 and would spend that money elsewhere. This place is a dump.

The manager is nice and accommodating, but I hardly ever see her, so most of the time you’re left dealing with team lead “Bim.” That’s not her full name, and she refuses to give it. She barely listens, is always on her phone, and seems not to understand half of what you say. I told her the lights were out and she said she’d call maintenance, but never did. Another worker fixed them the next day. Downstairs, my room was clean, smelled good, and everything was chill. Then they moved me upstairs because the downstairs rooms are apparently for shorter stays. The upstairs room had roaches and three busted lights. Fire alarms have woken me up blaring like a drill, the stairwell smells like crack smoke, and people have been sneaking into empty rooms. The cops even had to come by. If you stay here, PRAY you get a downstairs room. Upstairs feels like a survival challenge. And the 6th floor at night looks like a deleted horror movie scene, no lights, just vibes.

The staff were all kind and respectful, and they did their best to help whenever I needed something. I’m really grateful to them for a great stay.
