The staff really made this stay, especially Jada. She was wonderful both on the phone and in person, and deserves recognition for her customer service. The manager was super nice too, though I didn't get her name. I travel a lot and wish every hotel visit felt this welcoming. The hotel is a little dated, without things like USB ports, but the clean rooms, nice linens and towels make that easy to overlook. The pool and spa both worked, breakfast was wonderful, parking was easy, and there are lots of restaurants just across the street within walking distance.

Those rocking chairs on the front porch and the fireplace inside give the place a real down-home country feel. It's quiet and safe, and you can walk to restaurants, bars, and Cabela's. I've stayed here many times while in Michigan and never had a problem. The rooms are always super clean, and both the staff and management are courteous and professional.

The main problem was the pool chemicals. There was so much chlorine that our eyes burned and the kids coughed a lot. Opening the windows in the pool area helped with the fumes, but the hotel needs to fix the chemical levels. Aside from that, we had a great value stay for NYE, a little inexpensive getaway with friends and our kids. It's right next to st julian, where we did a wine tasting. The building is older but well kept, the staff were friendly and laid-back, breakfast was free, and everyone loved the pool and hot tub. With the chlorine issue sorted, I'd give it five stars.

The check-in was quick and easy, with no problems. There was plenty of hot breakfast available. My grandchildren loved the pool and hot tub so much they didn't want to leave.

Probably the cleanest hotel I've stayed at in Michigan. The staff were friendly and professional, and they have breakfast and a swimming pool. I'd definitely recommend it and come back.
