The Lodge at Duke Medical Center

Ms. Jenelle and Talya went above and beyond to make our stay a good one. The staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive from the moment we arrived, and every interaction showed real care. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well appointed, and the atmosphere felt relaxing and inviting. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly come back.

The friendly staff, nice room, and location near the hospital were all helpful, and having a café for coffee was a nice bonus. But be cautious during a January cold snap. We had no hot water, and the parking lot hadn't been cleared. I slipped and hurt myself while loading the car. I warned friends staying the next two nights about the hot water. They specifically asked before checking in whether it had been fixed and were told yes, but they also went both nights without hot water. I rarely write Google reviews, but felt I had to this time.

Being close to the hospital was convenient, but I won't return. I had a handicapped room and both the shower seat and handheld shower wand were broken. The bed was uncomfortable, too. They have a shuttle if you can get a response: after my wife's surgery, I texted twice to be picked up and heard nothing, despite having received a welcome text when I arrived. I had to walk a long way with my cane to get back to the hotel for my car and pick her up. Staff told me they were thinking of removing the text feature, so they ignore it.

If you or a loved one is getting medical treatment at Duke University Hospital and needs extra accommodations, this is the place to stay. The rooms were immaculate and just right for our situation, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The shuttle service, with Mr. Harry Daniels, got us where we needed to go and back from 7a-7p. Fantastic experience. I couldn't recommend it more.
