The lobby had a helpful mix of snacks and microwaveable food, plus delicious muffins and free coffee and tea. The shuttle service was terrific, and the location worked well, though I did get a bit lost walking to the hospital once or twice. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the staff were helpful. I was 85 and traveling alone while my son had open heart surgery at Duke, so staying at the University Inn made a real difference. I’ve been to quite a few nice hotels, but this was the cleanest. It would also work well as a home away from home for a longer medical visit.

The shuttle made getting to and from the hospital, or wherever you need to go, easy. The drivers were lovely and made me feel safe. It’s a clean, cozy place rather than a fancy hotel, and the whole staff treated us with so much care and respect. They were absolutely wonderful.

The beds were comfortable, the linens clean, and the rooms super clean too. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a wonderful place to stay, within walking distance of Duke University Hospital. I’ll definitely come back.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the price is fair. But my husband is physically challenged and couldn’t use the toilet properly because the toilet and tub area was so narrow that he couldn’t navigate it. Don’t stay here if you’re handicapped. Parking is awful and limited, the doors are heavy and don’t open automatically, and there was nobody to help with luggage.

Pinky was the best, I felt like I’d made a new friend. Everyone was so nice and treated us like family. The hotel was very clean and nice, and the shuttle was quick and wonderful. I’m definitely staying here again.
