Courtyard Westbury Long Island

It feels a lot like home, with clean rooms and great beds. The bar is open, and the workers can get a drink there. Breakfast costs extra, which is a downside unless you're traveling for work. It's close to companies and about a 20-minute drive from Huntington and the Paramount. If you're visiting as a tourist, I'd get breakfast down the road.

I came here for work and needed sleep, so being woken up by hard, loud banging was really disappointing. The maid knocked once, left for about a minute, then banged hard for a third time while I was still half asleep. I had to shout through the closed door that checkout was still two hours away. After I checked out a few hours later, I told the manager what happened. His dry response didn't show much empathy. He said she probably didn't know my checkout time and that I should use the hotel chat app to tell them exactly when I'm leaving. That seemed obvious, given how she was banging like I owed her money. Beware, if you stay here, the maids may try to almost break down your door if you haven't told them your checkout time. From the manager's response, it seems to be part of their hospitality policy. I personally don't recommend staying here.

The room was small, dark, gloomy, and had a motel feel. The beds were really uncomfortable, and it seemed below the usual standard of a traditional Courtyard Marriott. They charge guests $10 a day to park, even though the hotel sits among about 100 parking lots. At $300 or more a night, the service should be much better. I'd pick another hotel or motel with parking.

I was here on business in room 407. It's a pretty nice hotel, and it looks like it may have been renovated. I stayed at a Courtyard in Buckhead a few weeks earlier, with the same room features, but the outlets by the TV and nightstands there could take several plugs at once. I can only suggest keeping a couple of house umbrellas behind the front desk. The parking lot also drained poorly.
