Boardman House Inn Bed & Breakfast

Even though it was late at night, the owner of the Boardman got me a room. It was clean, and the bed was comfy. The house dates to 1860 and has been kept in great shape.

The parlor had coffee, light snacks, and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. We also got to meet some of Phyllis's family while they were visiting, and Phyllis herself was so welcoming and kind when she came to say hello. We felt like old friends. Our corner room had a lovely private bathroom, a sitting area, a dreamy soft mattress, and a porch where we could look at the stars. The high ceilings and gorgeous chandelier made it feel special. We stayed one night at Boardman House and didn't want to leave. We were there for a show at the Godspeed Opera House, just a three-minute walk away. After the theater, it was wonderful to be back in a warm, comfortable bed within five minutes. The house combines old-world charm with modern amenities, and there's a private driveway to keep the car safe. I'd highly recommend Boardman House to anyone visiting East Haddam. It would suit any occasion and made our Connecticut visit feel even more special. We can't wait to return and see Phyllis again.

We've stayed at this lovely restored historic inn every time we've visited Haddam since my daughter started boarding school there. Phyllis is so warm, welcoming, helpful, and hard-working. I can't recommend the place enough, though I do hope I can still get a room when we come back! lol

I stayed in the Boardman room, and it had the charm of stepping into the past with modern conveniences too. I've been to plenty of bed and breakfasts over the years, but Boardman House won me over like no other and set a new standard for travel. Phyllis welcomed me with genuine warmth, and her care and attention showed throughout my stay. I felt at home right away. She's the kind of person who feels like an old friend as soon as you meet her, and I'm glad I made a new friend in her. The room was very clean and a dream to stay in, with a plush bed, soft linens, and lots of pillows. Every amenity I could need was thoughtfully provided. I left feeling refreshed and inspired, already looking forward to a return. It was a magical stay, more than just a place to sleep.
