Room 322 smelled awful and had mold everywhere. The air conditioning didn’t work at all, making for a miserable night. They moved me to room 120 the next day, and that one was pretty good, but it didn’t undo the bad night. Very disappointing.

For a one-night stay, I was satisfied with this inexpensive hotel. It was quiet all night, the room was comfortable and very clean when we arrived, and the AC and Wi-Fi both worked. The host at check-in was very nice, polite, and quick. The grounds and pool landscaping were well kept, even though the buildings are aging, and the exterior was fine. We’d been priced out of Miami by a weekend event that reduced availability and drove rates up, so at the last minute we headed back to Naples. I didn’t expect luxury for what we paid. Agoda listed free snacks in our upgraded room, but there weren’t any; it was a small premium, though Agoda may need to coordinate with the property to keep listings accurate. There was a way to tip the cleaner electronically, but nobody had put their name on the card, so we had to tip the whole team without naming anyone. The toilet flapper had to be closed by hand after every flush; I let management know. That was the only problem we had.

My allergies flared badly in the damp, musty room, and I barely slept. This place is overpriced for its condition, and the “PLUS+” label is misleading. The Red Roof PLUS+ & Suites Naples Downtown was one of my worst hotel stays. There was dust all over the front desk and a stale smell throughout the poorly maintained property. Inside the room, several areas of carpet felt soggy, particularly by the air conditioner, and damp patches showed on the walls. The bedding had questionable stains, the pillows smelled damp, and the bathroom was filthy, with black mold around the shower caulking, grimy tiles, loose hair on the floor, and a toilet that never felt clean. The towels were thin, worn, and stained. I also felt unsafe with groups of rough-looking people hanging out in the parking lot and hallways at all hours, smoking, yelling, and loitering. The whole place had a seedy, low-quality feel I hadn’t expected from a “PLUS+” property. It needs a full renovation, a deep clean, and better management. I won’t return and strongly advise people to avoid it.

I’d been staying here with my children since August 2025, and for a while we had some of our best times there. Then I started dating an employee. I don’t work at the hotel, so I don’t know all its policies, but we were treated terribly and essentially put out on the street. I had some trouble paying on the day they asked us to leave. There had been a few late days before, and on some days we had two rooms. I explained to the manager that I was waiting for my boyfriend to pick us up, but his job was threatened. I was treated like I was crazy for coming into the office with accusations. He had been the kindest, gentlest person I’d met, but watched my world fall apart and then walked away as if I meant nothing because his job and only way to provide for his family had been held over him. Manager Kevin showed no remorse and didn’t even tell me my boyfriend wasn’t coming because his job was at risk. We sat outside for two days waiting for him, slept under the stairs out front, and had to throw away everything we owned. I had no time to make plans, and we went three days without eating because staff kept telling us to leave. I knew I needed to go, but had no time to arrange anything after living there since August. When the manager told me to leave, I lost everything.
