Extended Stay America Providence

The room was very clean, and the hotel was close to everything. We arrived late and worn out after a rough stay at another hotel, and Fabian at the front desk was understanding and went out of his way to help. He even pointed us toward good places to visit nearby. I'd recommend staying here if you're in the area.

The room seemed okay at first, but we found a dozen nail clippings in a drawer. There was also an overpowering smell of heavily spiced cooking as soon as we stepped off the elevator. Then my son left an ear bud behind. They found it, but wouldn't mail it, so I'd have to arrange pickup and shipping myself. Nasty place, expensive, and the service was horrible. Avoid.

My room was clean and cozy, and I liked being near the laundry room. The receptionist was friendly and helpful too. I was happy to smell fresh laundry when I first came into the hotel, but the free grab-and-go breakfast was disappointing, with very little variety.

Breakfast was barely there, and the hotel was noisy and not especially clean. The night staff woman also came across as sarcastic when I called for the WiFi and later to check whether checkout had gone through after I left my keys. Her tone seemed odd and rude, she didn't say goodbye, and she just hung up. It was confusing and unpleasant, so I wouldn't recommend it if you can afford to stay somewhere else.
