Baymont By Wyndham East Ridge Hotel

Even though we got in late, they greeted us by name and got us checked in quickly. They pointed out where breakfast was and showed us the way to our room, so I was able to get to bed within five minutes. I was really pleased with how smoothly it all went.

Our room had a large empty area, as if a sofa was missing from what might normally be a single-bed room. The elevator also shook and its doors didn't seem to close all the way as it started moving. It took us a little while to find the hotel because we had to drive around to reach it, and the front desk welcome wasn't very warm. The room smelled musty, then the bathroom smelled of smoke later on. We don't smoke, so it wasn't us.

This didn't feel like a family place to stay. The apples at breakfast were sticky and mushy, and the bathroom lotion had already been used and left on the sink. The pullout couch was so dirty that we were offered a room change or fresh sheets. There were stains on the sheets, and the floors were dirty throughout. The photos online look old, too, since the front desk and snack area were untidy. The hotel felt worn and dirty, and the elevator smelled terrible and seemed close to breaking.

The rooms were decent sized for the price, and the staff were very kind and helpful. Check-in was easy. I wouldn't return, though. A roach was crawling on the tub, the shower pressure was weak, and the bed made a strange metallic rattling sound whenever someone moved. We heard the same noise from someone else's bed the second night. We only ate the included breakfast once because it was underwhelming. It was okay for a short, low-cost trip, but next time I'd pay more for a better location and quality.
