Comfort Inn & Suites Chattanooga-East Ridge

The place isn't new, though it's had a number of updates. Rooms were large and clean, the beds and pillows comfortable, and the water pressure strong. Check-in was pleasant. Breakfast was simple but good, with really good coffee and a nice range of teas. Even a meat eater could find a decent breakfast. The sofa had stains and needs cleaning. The heating and cooling were quiet, and there was a gym. I'd stay again.

The location off exit 1 on I-75 was good, and the bathrooms were clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. But I booked a suite with a patio and wasn't given one because I had a dog. I don't mind that rule, but it should be stated on the website. If I'd known, I wouldn't have chosen the suite and paid extra. My daughter then had to sleep on a chair and wooden ottoman because we lost the pullout bed, and no foldaway beds were available despite low occupancy. Breakfast was advertised for 6:30. We arrived around 6:40, before the attendants, who later said it would be another 30 minutes. That's too rough not to mention, even though I understand it's hard to find good employees. I've been with Choice for about 25 years and never complained or asked for money back, but I think my 6,000 points and $50 should be returned. Keep the $25 dog fee. Oddly, this is also the first stay where I didn't get a survey right away.

There was plenty of space and the place was clean, but the room's air conditioning was a problem. It couldn't be set below 68, and the room stayed at 73 with little air moving. Hardly anything came out of the vents, so we had to buy fans even though it wasn't summer yet.

I stayed four nights and came away well rested, with breakfast every day. The staff were outstanding, and the hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Just perfect.
