Quality Inn East Stroudsburg - Poconos

The location was great, only about 15 minutes from the mountain and slopes. The hotel itself was nice too. The hallways smelled fresh, the room seemed clean, there was a good-sized mini fridge, and the bathroom was clean. The complimentary breakfast was good. But the bed and pillows made it impossible to rest. They were rock hard. People come to a cheaper hotel to sleep, so getting decent beds and pillows seems like an easy fix. I had the worst night's sleep and won't be back because of it.

Ted was really friendly and stopped by to chat with us a few times. Whatever he's paid, it isn't enough. And the food at The Roasted Tomato was excellent, all made fresh on site. The cheesecake there is the best in the world!

I've stayed at Quality Inn many times, and this was the worst experience. It isn't in bad shape overall, but the cleanliness is a real problem. The whole hotel smelled of cigarette smoke, the carpets were dirty throughout, and even the staff didn't look clean. The photos don't reflect what it's actually like. Breakfast was terrible, with basically nothing to eat. They should just say they don't offer breakfast. I know it's not an expensive hotel, but it isn't cheap either.

The place really needs work, though the price was lower than most and the staff were very nice and tried to find us a room that matched our booking. The lobby is being updated, but the halls smelled of smoke, as did one of the rooms they tried to move us to. Breakfast wasn't appealing, and on our third attempt we got a room with a broken window.
