The room felt welcoming and comfortable, and breakfast was good, even if there wasn't much of it. The front desk agents are fantastic, especially the tall, light-skinned guy with hair who works overnight. I think his name starts with C. He was friendly, listened to what I needed, and paid close attention to customers. Give that guy a raise. Fantastic worker!

For the price, five stars. Things feel cleaner and quieter here, and the vibe at this location has really turned around. Housekeeping was very helpful. I didn't catch his name, but I will so I can praise him properly. He went out of his way to make me comfortable, promised new towels, brought them, and made sure to tell me. Very polite, and I appreciate his hard work and professionalism. The hotel is lucky to have him.

The bathroom toilet kept overflowing even though there was nothing in it but water and pee. The last time, at 4:30 a.m., it flooded the bathroom with an inch or more of water. When I called to report it and ask for cleanup, they said housekeeping would come at 7 a.m. I asked what I was meant to do meanwhile, and they offered towels so I could clean it myself. The air conditioner and heater vents were packed with dust and allergens. There was dust on the floor, loose wiring, and a fridge that was very loud and leaking. The wood under it had bowed from the water, so this seemed to have been going on for a while. The ceilings leaked in several places around the hotel. I was there for a week. The room was so dirty on arrival that I asked to switch, thinking it might just be that room. The next one was just as bad, if not worse. I was exhausted and didn't have a vehicle, so I stayed and hoped housekeeping would fix things. The housekeeper was friendly enough, but only swept the floor once. No cleaner, bleach, or rag was used to wipe anything down. Other than the cleaner, overnight desk staff, and manager, staff were extremely rude. They called me a nuisance because I asked twice for an extra card during the week, then said I'd be charged $59 if I asked again. Around 10 p.m. one night, I spilled coffee on the duvet and called down for a clean set. They said that wasn't possible because housekeeping had left. I offered to come down and get one, but they kept saying they couldn't provide clean blankets without the cleaning staff. Nobody changed or offered to change the blanket, pillowcase, or sheets during my stay. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and lopsided, and the mattress was yellow-stained all over. The pool wasn't accessible, but that hadn't been disclosed when I booked. The room phone couldn't call out. On the second day, a staff member was arguing with the manager, saying she hadn't been paid and was quitting. The manager discussed it openly on his private phone, within earshot. At breakfast, I felt rushed. The man overseeing it stood behind the few of us still getting food, and it was packed up ten minutes before the scheduled breakfast end. The whole place was filthy, and even basic things like a working toilet were ignored. The staff went out of their way to be rude and unhelpful.

The included breakfast was acceptable and covered the basics. I had a mixed one-night family stay at Hotel IState, where the building's dull, motel-like feel made for a pretty basic atmosphere. The infrastructure was just fine, but the overall appearance wasn't good. The bed was okay to sleep in, but the room itself wasn't satisfactory. The older air conditioner was extremely loud, like a jet engine starting up, and made it hard to rest comfortably.
