Restaurants, cafes, gas stations, and good places for breakfast or dinner are all close by. The staff were very friendly, too. Our five-person group found the room a poor fit, since it had just two full-sized beds and wasn’t very comfortable. I’d say this place suits couples or a small group of friends better, and may not be the best choice with children. We also found bedbugs in our room, so bring bite cream if you run into that situation. Four stars from me.

For the price I paid, the conditions were highly disappointing. The floors had been updated, but the room still wasn’t clean: there was dirt in the bathroom corners, old grime around the sink drain, cobwebs on the lamp, and a picture on the wall that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in decades. There wasn’t a coffee maker in the room, which I’d usually expect at this rate. Coffee was available at the front desk, but the machine looked very old and needed a thorough cleaning, as did the refrigerator holding the milk canister.

The pool was a green, filthy mess, more like an algae pond, and I wouldn’t even go near it for a photo. Our room had stains on the sheets and was so dirty that we asked for it to be cleaned when we arrived, then bought our own bathroom cleaner to try to deal with it. Although it looked clean at first glance, it wasn’t. The mold and mildew smell from the 1973 air conditioner was gag-inducing, and at 1 a.m. the noise next door sounded like a frat party with junior high wrestlers. If you want to enjoy your time on the Cape, don’t stay here.

The biking trail is close by, the location is excellent, and the staff were friendly. We also liked the pool, which stayed open until 8pm. The rooms were dated, the lighting harsh, and there weren’t many extras. It’s a cute, quaint hideaway, but the lack of breakfast was a letdown.
