Hampton Inn Easton

The evening and morning front desk staff were friendly and great at check-in and checkout. I’m not sure why someone asks whether I’m checking out and what room I’m in when the hotel offers self-checkout, though. I also had trouble loading my reservation in the phone app after paying with CC points, but the desk helped when I checked in. The room was small but okay, though the A/C was very loud. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped and smelled sewer-like when I first walked in. Someone had sprayed air freshener over it. I also wasn’t a fan of the shades, since people walking outside and houses nearby could see in. Movie channels in the room were nice, since some Hilton hotels don’t have them. I didn’t eat breakfast or use the other amenities. The hallway carpet looks fairly new, but the rooms could use updating, along with better lighting and outlets with USB-C instead of only USB. For the quality, $130-140 a night seems high, and $160+ is too much. I guess the area is part of the price.

The room cost $160 for one night on a random Monday, yet the room was dated, stained, and had no fridge or microwave. The shower faucet only stayed cold or got so hot it could burn you. I told the front desk, but didn’t even get an apology, let alone a refund for not being able to shower. There was no digital key for rooms, so you have to check in at the desk. I also had trouble changing rooms during check-in. It seems absurd that the front desk couldn’t do its one job. Manager Jeff left a lot to be desired and didn’t show genuine professionalism while handling problems. Cheryl at breakfast was extremely unpleasant, and the food was gross. There was a complete lack of hospitality for Hilton credit card holders and Diamond members. If they don’t value top-tier clients, who do they value? I can’t recommend this place and won’t be back.

The manager was very friendly and accommodating. A lovely woman looking after the breakfast buffet made all the difference. The place was clean and comfortable.

After a four-hour drive, it was just what we needed to be met by such pleasant, helpful front desk staff and breakfast staff. Rooms at the front are a bit noisier because they’re close to the road.
