Hampton Inn Edenton

The hotel was comfortable and quiet, but it needs some updates, especially the shower tubs. Staff weren’t rude, but they could be friendlier and more informative. When I arrived, the desk clerk didn’t tell me where the elevators, fitness center, ice, vending, or breakfast were, or give any other hotel information. They also didn’t acknowledge my Hilton Diamond Status, and at checkout there wasn’t even a comment about my stay or a thank you and invitation to return.

For $200 a night, I’d look elsewhere. The woman at the front desk started cursing when I arrived, before we’d had any real conversation. She said nobody knew when the room would be ready and that it might be after 5. The person who came in behind her at 3pm wouldn’t even ask my name to check the reservation or see if a room was ready. This was unprofessional, and I can’t recommend staying at this location. If management thinks treating members this way is acceptable, take your business elsewhere. I can’t recommend another location more.

Be careful booking at this Hampton Inn. The customer service was horrible, and they didn’t honor the Hilton pledge to customers. They gave me incorrect information, ignored my request, and refused to move me even though the hotel was virtually empty. They blamed the misinformation on an employee in training. The staff were no help.

The room was clean enough, and it was nice to get into the Hampton Inn early after a long drive. But we were placed on a floor with a lot of people from a company job site. They were loud, screaming in the room next to us, banging doors, and yelling. They also cleared out breakfast before we had a chance to get anything. The bed felt old and uncomfortable, like I could feel the springs. We were missing drinking cups and a caffeinated coffee pod, although the lobby coffee was very good. With the noise and the bed, I slept poorly before another day of driving. Perhaps we should have been put somewhere else in the hotel. DH thought the bed was okay, but the surrounding guests disturbed him too. We paid for a Hilton branded hotel, but it didn’t feel like a Hilton experience.
