Days Inn Tonawanda/Buffalo

The rooms were clean and simple, though the price felt a little high. There's no coffee maker in the room, and the breakfast selection seemed too small for what they charge. The coffee machine by reception also isn't available around the clock, which is inconvenient if you're traveling at night. This felt more like a motel than a hotel.

We could hear the guests in the room next to us, which was awful. The place is rundown and hasn't been updated, and the staff weren't friendly. The TV remote and room phone didn't work, so I had to call the front desk on my cell because the room was freezing. When someone came, he said he'd turn on the building's heat since the AC unit wasn't working, but we were still cold. There were a few places to eat nearby, mostly fast food and nothing special.

We found a clean, comfortable place for a last-minute two-night stay, and had a really nice time at the Days Inn in Buffalo. The staff were friendly, and we'd happily come back. The only small problem was a faint smoke smell in our room. My in-laws' room next door was perfectly fine, though.

The first day at the hotel was fine, though I noticed water on the bathroom floor and didn't think much of it since I was going to be out most of the time. When I got back around 11 pm, there was more water on the floor and brown water coming up through the shower, so I couldn't use the bathroom properly. I asked about getting some kind of refund and was told no, though they offered me another room. Its toilet flushed for about five minutes, the window screen was ripped open, and the room smelled strongly of smoke. I decided to check out and drive home. The service tonight was abysmal, and I plan to contact my credit card company and corporate to try to get some kind of refund.
