Ocotillo Inn

Ugh, the location is handy for getting off Interstate 8, but reaching our room from the parking lot was difficult. A strong sour smell kept me awake at night, like relish mixed with maneur. The beds were hard, and the TV channel selection was El Cheapo. For what we paid, I expected a much better room. I left seriously disappointed.

Housekeeping was amazing, but the run-down look of the place takes away from that. There was no plate behind the tub faucet, and it looked like there was mold behind the shower door. The bathroom door needs replacing. In the hallway, some plates in the middle of the floor were lifted and seemed ready to trip someone. I’ll never stay here again.

The room was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the AC did its job. We really enjoyed the pool. Getting on and off the highway was easy, and we couldn’t hear any highway noise from our room. There’s no breakfast, but you get 10% off at the attached Denny's. Coffee is just around the corner from the lobby.

Right by the freeway, with a Denny's on site and plenty of parking. The full-size pool has covered places to sit, and there’s a large grassy outdoor area where the pup can run and play a bit. It’s pet-friendly, yet the room I stayed in was spotless, with no sign a pet had ever been there. Great price and great value.
