Holiday Inn Express & Suites El Paso - Sunland Park Area by IHG

My room was cozy and remarkably clean, and the lobby looked fresh and tidy. The grounds were well kept, with plenty of parking. David handled check-in with real skill and warmth. He was personable and clearly cared about helping guests. I hope he’s paid accordingly, he deserves it. The service and property lived up to the positive reviews, which didn’t feel misleading at all. I’d gladly recommend this location.

The breakfast was okay, and the rooms were clean since the property is new. I booked a King Suite, though its size left me wondering if it was really a suite. There was also a pile of garbage hanging by the elevator door. My check-in experience was extremely poor. I asked to arrive an hour early and was told the room wasn’t clean yet, to wait half an hour and they’d call. Nobody called. When I returned two hours later, the desk still said it wasn’t ready. I said that wasn’t acceptable and asked for any room, and suddenly they found one.

We make a point of returning to this Holiday Inn Express when driving between Houston and San Diego to see family, and have done so for several years. David Tapia at the front desk was especially kind, courteous, and efficient. It’s always nice to come back somewhere that makes you feel welcome. Service here has been consistently friendly and professional.

Breakfast had a nice range of food and drinks, and the beds were comfortable with crisp white cotton towels. We did have to wait 30-45 minutes past check-in time for a room. More staff might have shortened that delay.
