Cambria Hotel LAX

We spent almost a week on the fourth floor, and the hallway smelled like marijuana every day. Even opening our door briefly let the smell into the room, which was unpleasant. On our first morning, the front desk said coffee was available when we called, but downstairs we learned it wasn't complimentary. There wasn't even a coffee station, which was disappointing and confusing. The rooms were okay, and the stay was average, but those issues affected our experience.

The morning airport shuttle is free, and there’s a pub downstairs serving food. Get the hot wings. We booked this affordable place near the airport for the night after a cruise, before our flight home the next day. It's listed as a 3star hotel, but I think it deserves more. The room was beautiful, the property was clean, and the staff were friendly.

The food at the in-house bar was tasty and convenient. It was stormy outside, so being able to eat there saved me a rideshare trip to find food elsewhere. It's a nice place for a night when flying into LAX, and not far from the airport. My rideshare there cost about $20. Daryl (Darryl?) was courteous and helpful when checking me in.

The service here was terrible. I waited an hour for the airport shuttle, and after calling three times to ask what was happening, I still got no help or information. They took my name and phone number when I first called, but nobody called me back. I didn't know whether the shuttle was meant for me alone or for several passengers. When I tried to get answers, they hung up before I could finish my questions. Later, the receptionist answered, heard my voice, and hung up again. I ended up taking a taxi from the airport because the shuttle never came and no one responded. The room's trash cans had no bags. When I asked housekeeping for a plastic bag so I could collect my trash without putting liquid in the bins, they said they didn't have any. There was dog poop across the outdoor green areas, and the pet-waste bag dispensers were empty. The hotel promises a free airport pickup, but that shuttle never showed up either.
