Hampton Inn & Suites LAX El Segundo

For a work trip, I stayed one night last week and found the hotel clean and well maintained, about ten minutes from the airport. I’ve stayed in downtown LA hotels before, and this is a much better option. My room was quiet and comfortable, though the window was quite small, perhaps just in that room. I checked in late, at 7 pm, and asked for late checkout. They kindly offered it, but when I checked again while getting my keys, there was no record of the request. Luckily I had the name of the person I’d spoken with in the app chat. They need to be better organized. Parking was another hassle: it costs $30, and they said I should have added it to the reservation, but the Hilton site gave me no option. I had to park out front, wait in line, get physical keys, and use them to enter and leave the garage. The fitness center was also too warm in the morning, staying above 70 degrees, which isn’t comfortable for a workout. I don’t know why it’s set that high, but it should be addressed.

The secure garage was a plus, and breakfast had lots of choices for us and the kids. The room was decently clean, though there was a little red mold in the shower. It seemed minor and expected in a humid climate.

We had a comfortable, pleasant night here, and my family truly enjoyed the stay. The staff were helpful, friendly, and very nice. We’d be happy to come back in the future and recommend the place.

The staff made every effort to look after guests, and I could tell people here do their best. I called ahead because delays meant I’d arrive late, and they assured me I could still check in. My room was clean, and they answered all my questions. The bartender was kind enough to let me take a glass to my room, and she makes a great Pinot Grigio spritz. There’s a BOA branch across the street, which was handy. Breakfast had a wonderful variety, and the pool, gym, and very clean laundry room were nice. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating as much as they could be. From now on, whenever I fly out of LAX, I’ll stay in el segundo at the Hampton.
