Holiday Inn Express And Suites Elgin Chicago Northwest by IHG

We booked this brand-new, well-located hotel expecting internet, but the third floor had no Wi-Fi, a widespread problem the hotel already knew about. Guests were told to contact an outside IT company themselves. After several calls and more than 30 minutes on hold, the connection came back briefly and then dropped again. With no Wi-Fi, the TV programming wasn't available either. There wasn't a manager on site. The front desk staff tried to assist but couldn't fix it. At checkout, they said management had to approve the points refund and that someone would contact us. Nobody did. After three and a half weeks and three calls to IHG Corporate, we received only a partial refund of our points. We're long-time IHG Diamond Elite members and have stayed at IHG hotels around the world. Once we use the points we have left, we're ending our relationship with IHG. The hotel didn't disclose a known issue, and the lack of follow-through was extremely disappointing, even for Diamond Elite members.

Everything was ready before our small business meeting began, including the seating and audio setup. The event coordination team was supportive, and their help on site kept the session running smoothly.

It's a new hotel, bright, clean, and inviting, with a helpful front desk and a tasty hot breakfast each day. We especially appreciate the pet-free rooms. Not everyone has pets, and those rooms feel cleaner to us. Thanks for considering that. We look forward to coming back.

The staff made the stay especially nice. Everyone we met was kind and professional. The hotel is lovely and only a few months old, and I was glad to have a great workout room and an indoor pool.
