The restaurant meal was delicious, with a seasonal menu made from local ingredients and an inventive cocktail list. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed it so much we bought a round for the kitchen. We were traveling to Quebec and spent a very comfortable night at the Inn. The snow-covered historic building drew us in, check-in was easy, and our host was very accommodating. We played a classic jazz album on the Bluetooth turntable in our room, then slept well in the cozy beds before heading out in the morning. I’d recommend the Deer’s Head Inn to travelers and food lovers.

The restaurant downstairs had unique, flavorful options and excellent cocktails, and the owner was quick to respond. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed. The location was convenient, close to a grocery and convenience stores and not far from Lake Placid, right in central Elizabethtown. We had a great stay and would come back.

I’ve spent lots of weekends in the ADK and can’t believe I’ve only just found the Deer’s Head Inn. It’s easy to reach from 87 and a quick trip to Keene and Lake Placid. The room had lovely little touches and was just what I needed, and the restaurant served delicious food and drinks. I’ll be back!

Dinner on New Year’s Eve was amazing, both the meal and the service. I had the duck and artichoke appetizer, which was to die for. My husband’s sea bass was superb, and the other couple got the filet mignon, which was great. Everything was wonderful.

We come here often when visiting the Adirondacks, including for skiing at White Face Mountain. It’s a bit of a drive, but well worth it. Everything is clean, and the owners are responsive. The restaurant is open on weekends, and we highly recommend it too!
