Best Western Plus Executive Residency Elk City

We had our fifth wheel worked on, and Octavia went out of her way to make us comfortable. She checked us in, was absolutely adorable, and got us a member discount. The room was great and had a kitchenette. Breakfast was awesome too. I'd stay here again.

The bed was comfortable, and the room had a nice kitchenette and walk-in shower, but the road noise kept me from sleeping. The place is right by the interstate, which is a terrible location, and there's not enough parking. My first room hadn't been cleaned, and the door on the second one didn't close properly. The AC fan was noisy, and I could easily hear people talking in the hallway, so the insulation seems lacking. At breakfast, several buffet items were gone and the food that was left was barely warm. There was also a tacky tip jar. Sorry, Best Western, this location is a fail.

The breakfast is decent, the location is good, and it's fairly quiet. At first the stay seemed fine, but the hotel repeatedly forgot to mark my room as occupied. Housekeeping interrupted me all day, thinking it was vacant. Then at about 10:30 at night, someone tried to get in because staff had offered my room to another guest. I had to tell the person banging on the door to go back to the desk because it wasn't their room. I'm a Best Western Diamond Rewards member, but the hotel still won't extend my stay. My semi truck has broken down and may take another week to fix, so I'll have to move hotels. Replacing the transmission will cost nearly $20,000, and management knows why I'm here all week, but doesn't seem to care or want to accommodate me. I don't understand why they can't decide how to treat a Diamond Rewards member. This whole situation has left me feeling like a second-class citizen, and I'm definitely unhappy. I thought the folks in Elk City, Oklahoma might be more accommodating, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

My husband and I were on the road to Elk City when the hotel called that morning to cancel our reservation for that evening. They said they were overbooked because of a tournament in the area. I'd booked three months earlier. BW customer service agreed they shouldn't have done this. We found another room at a Wyndham hotel nearby, but what if we hadn't? Leaving a customer without a room on arrival day is shameful and terrible management. EDIT: Now you're blaming a third party for the overbooking? I reserved three months ahead, and you left two senior citizens without a room the day we arrived. You chose a higher rate and canceled ours. Shameful. We'll never book at your lousy hotel again.
