Best Western O'Hare/Elk Grove Hotel

Ana, who handled breakfast, was especially kind to guests and clearly took pride in her work. All the staff seemed attentive, polite, and professional. I also appreciated the clean, safe-feeling facility and the individually wrapped breakfast food and cups. Everything was fresh and nicely set out. The vending machine sodas were just $1.25, which was a pleasant surprise, and the bathroom toiletries were provided without needing to ask. For the price, I was elated with the hotel. I'd definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

I was stranded in Chicago for two days waiting for a flight and needed somewhere affordable. The room was neat and clean, breakfast was included, and there was a shuttle to and from the airport. The shower got nice and hot, too. I was pleasantly surprised by the value and would stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the shuttle experience was a serious problem. We booked this hotel for an overnight layover because it advertised free airport transportation. After landing, we called at 10:22 PM Central Time and were told the shuttle wasn't coming, so we'd have to find our own way there. At the front desk, we learned the shuttle doesn't run from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, a restriction that hadn't been mentioned when we booked. We had called before 11 PM and still didn't get a ride. Our 7 AM flight also meant the morning service was no use to us. The front desk woman was dismissive and unfriendly, saying, “We can’t do anything.” If you're relying on the shuttle in the evening or early morning, confirm the details in writing and have another plan. I wouldn't count on the service being honored. Also, as at many hotels, drinking water isn't complimentary, so you'll need to buy it.

The staff were courteous and professional, check-in was quick, and we used the park-and-fly option. The shuttle was on time, which helped for our quick overnight stop. The free breakfast was mediocre. Our first room had mold in the bathtub and a toilet that wouldn't flush. I told the front desk right away, and they moved us. The second room seemed okay until we tried to shower that night and found the tub wouldn't drain. The carpets weren't clean either.
