Comfort Suites Elkhart South

The hotel was dirty, and there was nothing nearby except a Kasey gas station. I don’t see how this is called Amish country; you have to drive to get anywhere. The pool stayed closed, with staff saying each day that it would open the next day. From past reviews, it sounds like the pool and hot tub are often closed. Our keys kept deactivating whenever we left, and the air conditioning never cooled our stuffy, hot room. The beds were awful, so we barely slept. Breakfast was limited and the food lukewarm or cold. We only ended up here because we needed a room at the last minute for our big group. We had a disturbing night, too. There were people checking in around 12:30AM-1AM, and I had a bad feeling about some women arriving with men. On the third floor, a man was yelling, “I paid for this, I paid for you,” while a woman screamed in pain. There was banging and noise that sounded like she was being beaten. The police came to the hotel. There were lots of kids staying there, and this shouldn’t be happening. If some kind of sex operation was going on, they should at least be more discreet.

Really nice stay, and the place was very clean. There were a couple of cosmetic flaws in the room, but they were mostly just eyesores. The guy at the front desk was kind when we arrived and again at checkout, and you could tell he worked hard. It was just what we needed.

The staff were lovely, especially the front desk girl, whose welcoming smile made me feel at home. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well kept, and the motel had a fresh, clean smell. Breakfast had a good selection and was tasty. I had a great stay and would recommend it.

The hot tub room was freezing, around 29 degrees outside, and the tub water was only warm, not hot. That was a letdown since we chose this place for the hot tub. The hotel itself was clean, though, and I have no other complaints.
