Icon Inn

Once we got inside, the owner(?) was super nice and welcoming, and got us checked in quickly after we chose “Concierge” at the kiosk. The room was very safe, roomy enough to stretch out, and immaculate. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen looked fully equipped, though we didn't use the kitchen or dining area. There were only two towels and one hand towel for five people, and I missed having a washcloth. More towels would've helped. I hadn't noticed the text asking me to download an app for check-in, so I arrived unprepared and was surprised by a sci-fi-looking room where we had to scan and check in before entering the hotel. With no person there to greet us, it didn't feel welcoming at first. The kitchen lights were off too. The room had a modern look, cool colors, and high-tech features that took a while to figure out. Traffic from the nearby freeway woke me early, though it was fine overnight. For a great price, it was safe, clean, and spacious. A few changes could make the welcome feel warmer.

It felt more like an apartment than a hotel. My room was just right, and I could cook for myself in the fully equipped kitchen. The manager was always available to make sure we had what we needed. I loved staying here and will definitely come back.

The rooms are fairly nice and modern, with fridges and freezers, walk-in showers, and quiet air conditioning. The beds were too firm for me, though the pillows helped. I couldn't find switches for the bedside lamps, so I unplugged them. The TV has no cable or satellite channels, and you have to log into the apps yourself, which made it pretty useless. This is a new hotel with a different setup: no front desk, just a kiosk to check yourself in and out. It didn't feel very welcoming on arrival. Better staffing, softer mattresses, and cable TV would make a big difference. Otherwise, I'll probably go back to the more established hotels I've used before.

It's a quiet, nice place with a self-service setup, kind of like an Airbnb. Management is on site and happy to help with questions or specific needs.
