The staff were very polite, though it seemed the rules tied their hands. We were disappointed to find the advertised continental breakfast unavailable because of short staffing. We’d been counting on it so we wouldn’t have to look elsewhere for breakfast. The room was dated, which would have been okay, but the bed was so worn that we could feel the center line of the frame. Light showed through a visible gap all the way down the doorframe, and the weather stripping needed replacing. There was a humidifier running when we arrived, which was helpful: it collected about half a gallon of water every 12 hours. I emptied it roughly that often, so I could tell it was working well.

We ended up here after abruptly backing out of a stay at another place eight minutes away, and it turned out pretty well. The beds and shower were good, and the room was fine. The floor didn’t seem properly clean, since I got stuff on my feet after showering. Also, with the lights out, the amount of light coming into the room looked the same as it did in the morning. Not sure how that works, lol. I’d stay again if I needed to.

The staff’s attitude and the strict no check-in before 3pm rule made this a terrible experience. They wouldn’t make an exception even though several rooms were empty. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Go to the Super 8 up the street.

Teresa at the front desk was great and went out of her way to help, even finding us a battery for the remote. The rooms were surprisingly nice for the price, and my wife and I had a pleasant stay at the Red Roof Inn in Ellington, Florida. We also enjoyed the Anna Maria Oyster Bar next door, where the food was amazing and better than we expected. The beds were comfortable, though they could use some upgrading. We loved the views and the location. As Marriott members looking for affordable places, this worked well for us. The pet deal is a real plus: the first pet is free and the second costs $15, compared with the $150 Marriott charges. We’d recommend it for a budget-friendly stay with a welcoming feel. I stayed here while my home was being fumigated, and Teresa at the front desk made us feel welcome. The Superior Room was quiet, spotless, and smelled fresh. It had two TVs, a couch, desk, a great bath dressing area, mini fridge, microwave, ironing board and iron, plus an amazing king bed. Waffle House, Ana Maria’s oyster bar, and a convenience store gas station are all within walking distance. Five stars, a great place to stay!
