Twilite Motel

About 20 minutes to Acadia and a short drive into town for good lobster. The room was simple, roomy, clean, and reasonably priced, with a comfortable bed and quiet nights. There’s a nice spot near the office for coffee and breakfast. My only complaint is that the owner supports the Green Bay Packers, which is a sin to someone from Chicago. Still, they were very friendly.

The wood ceiling beams and trim gave our room a cabin feel, and the bed was comfortable with fresh-smelling bedding. We had a relaxing night, felt welcome, and would happily stay again. You can tell a lot of care went into the recent updates, including new flooring, a shower, bath fixtures, and trim. The room was clean and comfortable.

The beds and pillows were comfortable, though I would have preferred queen beds instead of full. Our spacious, clean room had a small fridge and coffee maker, with no extra amenities. The bathroom was old-fashioned but clean, and the paper strip over the toilet saying it had been cleaned made me laugh. A decent stop for a tired family, run by pleasant, down-to-earth people.

The owner was incredible, and talking with him was worth the trip on its own. It’s a clean, no-frills hotel with what you need, in a great spot just before the Bar Harbor tourist-trap area. Nearby restaurants are all good value, and the stay itself is one of the best values in the area. I’d come back and use it as a base for Acadia and the surrounding area.
