Magnuson Hotel Park Vue

The room was clean and comfortable, and there was a simple breakfast with toast and juice. I could pull my truck right up to the door, which made loading and unloading easy and felt secure. Even though I arrived after hours, the staff hurried to check me in and had opened the room and switched on the heater before I got there. Great value for the price.

The desk staff were pleasant, and the bathroom was spotless, but the stay was far too much hassle for the money. The key stopped working on my third day, and my room supplies were never refreshed, so I was stuck with restaurant trash that had been sitting for three days. The carpet was filthy, there was no fridge or microwave, and the toilet whistled loudly. The AC rattled and clanked all night, as if it had a bad bearing. The fitted sheet was too small and kept coming off the bed. Breakfast wasn't offered on Sunday, which I assume was because only three rooms were occupied. On the day it was served, it was frozen breakfast sandwiches, with no lobby microwave to heat them. There are several better options for the same or less money, all within walking distance of everything.

Donna was incredibly kind when my car broke down and was towed into town late at night. The whole team made me feel looked after from start to finish, and the price worked well for what I needed. My room had everything I wanted: hot water, a VERY comfortable bed, and plenty of soaps. Breakfast was free and delicious, with English muffins, toast, warmed waffles and breakfast sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and more. I'd recommend it for an overnight stop or a longer stay in Ely! 😁

The staff were wonderful and very helpful, but the rest of my stay was a mess. My shower didn't work, so I had to use a wet washcloth at the sink. The room was stuffy and too warm, the TV still didn't work, and the tea was warm because the ice machine was broken. There was no breakfast, despite it being advertised, and the parking lot looked like a lunar landscape. I've stayed in better jail cells.
