Sprucewood Inn

The desk clerk was very nice and said she’d take care of the problems, but nothing was fixed over two days. The phone, TV, and fridge didn’t work, and my food spoiled. There was no shampoo or body wash in the shower, so I had to refill them myself. The tub wouldn’t drain, and there were brown stains on the wall by the toilet.

Our non-smoking room reeked of an ashtray, and the mattress sagged into a valley and clearly needed replacing. The front desk was very nice and understanding, and offered us another room. We decided to leave instead, and they kindly didn’t charge us. We’d booked online and stayed somewhere else.

The front desk staff are very friendly. I stay here every time I come to town, and my room is always clean.

For my first visit to Elyria, this seemed like a pretty swell motel for a couple of nights. We had a king-size bed, microwave, and mini fridge. They charge $25 if you need to check in early, but that didn’t hurt our pockets. Breakfast is free, with a mini pancake machine, coffee, two cereals, orange juice, and bagels. There’s a pool, though we didn’t use it. I’ll definitely come back.
