Sleep Inn Cartersville - Emerson Lake Point

Daisha MacDonald made a last-minute group booking happen for us, with keys ready for all 7 rooms and 14 workers, and she kindly printed a document for my work. She was happy to help in any other way too. Cobb EMC had requested tree crews for the ice storm that hit 1-25 thru 1-26, so we needed the rooms on short notice. I’d stayed here before and it was ok, but now anytime I’m back in town to train my crews, I’ll stay here. The whole staff made us feel at home and were professional. I’ll spread the word. Thank you everybody.

The quiet room was the one good thing. This place definitely needs renovation. A piece of metal sticks out from the bed, and I banged my ankle on it. Breakfast was bland and flavorless, with dry, overcooked bacon, eggs, and slimy gravy with biscuits.

The bathroom was DISGUSTING, FILTHY, and the hotel smelled like smoke. Trucks at the stop next door could be heard all night. The refrigerator kept clicking, and the old AC/heater switched on and off all night too. The clicking sounded like someone trying to get in our door. Avoid this place.

The one thing I missed was an outdoor pool. I know I’m probably in the minority, since most people prefer an indoor one, but I like lying in the sun. The workout room isn’t huge, though it’s enough. Breakfast is nice if you eat it, but my husband and I don’t. We come to Emerson once a year and have stayed here for the last three years. The rooms are always clean and spacious, with a mini frig, microwave, two queen beds (we use just one, but it’s nice having two), and a clean, roomy bathroom. It’s within walking distance of Lakepoint Indoor Pavilion, where we attend a weekend event, and there are plenty of eateries and convenience stores nearby. All in all, I definitely recommend this motel!
