Sonesta Emeryville - San Francisco Bay Bridge

It's fine, just fine. The place smells like bar soap, and they charged me $25 a day to park in an empty lot. The “Deluxe” rooms are smaller than a Best Western, and the internet is worse than Starbucks. Don't quote one price and then add 20% when I arrive. Also, skip the Tim Burton furniture and give me a better refrigerator.

There was no internet connection, and the breakfast staff were very rude. The manager and front desk weren't receptive either. I asked for a copy of the receipt from my last stay and was told I'd hear back within 48 hours. It's been two weeks with no reply. Worst hotel experience I've ever had.

The staff were amazing, and for a one-night stay on my own, it was great. Parking costs are unfortunately standard for the area, and with the good rate I got, that was fine. The only downside was the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly: someone else's hair was all over the floor and in the bathtub when I checked in.

Annalie is the best. From the front desk to the room, the experience was fantastic. Dropping Marriott and its abysmal Bistro concept has made this a better hotel.
