A good option for a short stay if you only need the basics. The room was clean and minimalist, with fresh towels and complimentary soap. The bed was fine, though the pillows felt too soft to me. Breakfast came with the stay, but the choices were limited and the same each day. Staff kept to themselves but helped when needed.

Linda’s special breakfasts and treats are delicious and unforgettable. This lovely Bed and Breakfast is a real treasure, with gorgeous sunsets and views of the water, garden, and courtyard. A fountain welcomes you in the front courtyard. It’s an elegant, special place to rest and refresh your spirit, and it will always mean a lot to me.

Linda and Earl make a fantastic team at the Black Orchid Bed and Breakfast. Linda creates elegant, charming suites, and Earl, the Catholic Cowboy, brings country music to their B&B mansion by appointment. They’re the best hosts. It’s in a quiet, peaceful, beautiful neighborhood, yet close to the freeway and just minutes from Moonlight Beach’s blue water. The meals are prepared beautifully and satisfy a hungry heart, while the hearth makes things feel warm. Be ready for excellent service. I especially recommend the broccoli soup, it filled me up. Happy Saint Joseph, the Worker, feast day! Blessed Virgin Mother, Mary, pray for us 🦋🤗😇⛪ (Communism is rotten capitalism! Socialism does not work. Let the free market rule with virtue and success results. Entrepreneurship is an illegal alien in socialism!)

I’ve only heard good things about this hideaway from locals. Encinitas is a lovely place to unwind. I’ve recommended it to an outdoorsy friend who works remotely in tech and enjoys surfing 🏄‍♀️ and free diving.
