Inn at Moonlight Beach

A few blocks gets you to food, the beach, and the local coaster if you want to head beyond Encinitas. The Inn at moonlight beach felt calm, zen, sustainable, and beautifully designed, with details I loved everywhere. I especially appreciated the crystals, tea, meditation space, bath herbs, yoga props, loose-leaf tea, and art, along with the massage options and delicious healthy breakfast. It's a grounding, unique boutique stay, and I'm grateful for all the thoughtful touches. I loved it and will be back. Thank you!

We had breakfast brought to our door in the morning, which was lovely, though the avocado was hard as a rock. The staff were very nice: Jai met us in the parking lot, and we were offered tea while checking in and ordering breakfast. My wife booked after reading the many glowing reviews, but she was disappointed. Nothing was terrible, yet the room and grounds felt janky and didn't live up to those reviews. There were at least three cobwebs across the ceiling, dust on the huge picture frame above the bed, and a very dirty gap about 4 inches wide between the tub and wall. The crooked blinds on the high windows had cords hanging down to the floor over a nonworking wall air conditioner/heater. A replacement freestanding unit was wired with an orange extension cord running from the floor below, over our patio. The room had a nice giant 10 ft sofa, but it nearly blocked the sliding glass doors to the patio. Outside, the patio plant was a scrawny 3 feet tall, and the fence between the property and the next one was falling down. I liked hearing frogs just outside the patio at night, but the train horn from tracks about 100 feet away made my wife jump when the first train went by. There's no ocean view anywhere on the property.

The lavender room was lovely, with thoughtful touches that fit the natural, sustainable feel. This little wellness center is beautiful, and there are lots of local places to eat for different tastes, plus the beach is a short walk away. We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay. The Coaster goes past regularly, but it must quiet down at night because we didn't hear it after our late bedtime.

I arrived to a warm welcome and kind, helpful energy. There was wellness tea and healthy treats in my room, a soothing bath set up, and ocean waves playing on a sound machine. The whole place is quiet, beautiful, and calming, more of a wellness sanctuary than just a hotel. It was exactly the peaceful break I needed to reset and recharge in Encinitas. I can't wait to return, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone needing a little escape.
