Crowne Plaza Englewood, an IHG Hotel

After four business days, I still haven't heard back from Crowne Plaza Englewood, despite Nick's assurances. I've stayed at at least two other Crowne Plazas, both beautiful and staffed by kind, friendly people, so I want to believe this is specific to this hotel and not the whole chain. The General Manager or Owner not caring that housekeeping left a sex toy on top of the microwave makes it seem like nobody here cares. Stay at your own risk. Can you trust them? The room was dirty. Within minutes of checking in, we saw marks on the carpet that looked like burn marks or serious dirt. I also found a sex toy shaped like a man's reproductive organ on top of the microwave. The room phone had no dial tone. I pressed 0 and the Front Desk button, hung up, and asked my husband to try, but nothing worked. I've stayed at around 12 IHG hotels in the last two years and probably more than 80 different hotels in the last decade, so I know how to pick up a phone and call the desk. Nick, the person in charge at the front desk, sent me to the lobby phone and said the room phone probably worked if I pressed 0 and then 1. When I asked where the lobby phone said to do that, he told me it was an older model. Why gaslight your guests? Earlier that day, we arrived well before check-in. Manny was at the counter. I said good morning and that I wanted to check in, and he immediately told me check-in was at 4 pm. I explained that my membership status let me request early check-in if available, as advertised by IHG. He asked my name and said our King bed room wasn't ready, so we'd need to wait until 1 pm. That was understandable, but he was extremely unfriendly.
