That room was so heavily sprayed with deodorizer that we spent most of the night coughing and couldn’t sleep. The place was dirty and overpriced. At breakfast there was no coffee or waffle batter, and the only hot food choices were waffles and oatmeal. When I asked the front desk clerk, he didn’t seem to care and just said, “We’re out.” Absolutely the worst place we’ve ever stayed, an abysmal motel.

The simple breakfast was tasty, and the service was great. There’s also a 10% discount for the Mexican restaurant in the lobby. Shops downtown, Skin resort, and hiking are all an easy walk away.

Getting from the parking lot to the room was easy, and downtown is close, with plenty of restaurants nearby, including the Mexican restaurant on the property. The room was large, the beds were comfortable, and having a desk chair plus a chair and ottoman was a nice extra. It’s an older place that’s showing its age. The shower control took a while to figure out: with a clock face as a guide, 12 was off, 3 cold, 6 blend, and 9 hot. I’ve never seen it arranged that way before. Breakfast was a standard continental spread with waffles, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, coffee, juice, water, and milk.

We ended up in Enumclaw because the bridge to Buckley was out, but I should’ve turned back and stayed nearer the freeway. The motel was run down and gross for the $230 I paid. The room smelled musty, furniture was stained, there was hair everywhere, and the electrical outlets had no covers. The front desk girl was really friendly, but when I checked in she said she’d need to inspect the room first. That made me wonder about housekeeping, and seeing the room only made me more concerned.
