Carly was very welcoming and friendly, and we had a great experience. The charming building made for a quiet stay, and the room was so clean and cozy that we couldn’t remember the last time we’d stayed in a hotel room that clean. Mold, mildew, and other allergens are always a concern for us in hotels, but there wasn’t any sign of them here. They use green cleaning methods, with no air fresheners or harsh chemicals. If you’re particular about your environment, this clean, green place is a great option.

Our standard room was huge, and the price was very fair for Door County. It had a king bed with nightstands and reading lights on both sides, a sitting area with a loveseat, two chairs, coffee table and fireplace, plus a small dining table. The kitchenette was highly functional, the soaking tub enormous, and the modern bathroom had a walk-in shower with great water pressure. There was also a lovely deck where you could sit in sun or shade, and a big walk-in closet with a space-saving pocket door. The place looks like it may once have been one of the area’s aging inns, with 80s-style furnishings and bad bathrooms, but it seems someone bought it and made smart updates. You can still see the old touches alongside the modern improvements. We were told two sisters own it now, and kudos to them for keeping the historic charm while making the rooms and bathrooms feel fresh and clean. I liked thoughtful details like creamers in the fridge for morning coffee, a custom cabinet front that hides the mini fridge, and decorative plates with Door County charm. Those are the little things many places don’t think to do. We live in Door County at our own place all summer, but needed a weekend stay while our home was being repaired. We’ll recommend Lodgings to our visiting friends and family. Best part, the room was ready well before check-in, and the lovely woman from the office called to offer an early arrival. We weren’t easy to find because we’d mistyped our email address, so that was especially thoughtful. Thank you, sisters, and best wishes for the continued success you deserve.

We stayed in the comfortable, well appointed “Gift Box Room.” The inn sits back from the main road, but it’s a short walk to watch sunsets or check out nearby shops and restaurants. It’s also a quick drive to beautiful Peninsula State Park.

We came for a babymoon, and we’ll be back with the family. The service was warm and inviting, and I believe she said it’s a family-built and family-owned business. It really felt like being a guest in someone’s home. The location sold us on booking, with scenic views and several great restaurants just a short walk away. For everything the place offered, I expected the three-night stay to cost a lot more. I still can’t believe they had vacancies so close to our booking date. This has been one of the best and most surprising gems we’ve found in DoCo.

Our room at Pioneer Lane was so spacious it felt more like a small cottage than a hotel room. The building and room are a little outdated, but the amenities and attention to detail more than made up for that. Check-in and checkout were easy even though we arrived while the office was closed, and the staff had left us an anniversary gift. The location also makes it easy to reach Door County attractions. Most towns are about the same driving distance, which opens up more options for what you can fit into a trip. I’d highly recommend Lodgings at Pioneer Lane, and we’ll consider it next time we visit.
