Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Erie

We chose this place for a weekend without the kids, paying more than some other options because we wanted to use the pool and hot tub. At check-in we found out the pool was closed. When we asked about a room with a jacuzzi tub, the staff seemed reluctant to even look into it. Their alternative was to drive 20 minutes to use a pool at another property. That defeats the point of having the amenities here and being able to walk 50 feet back to our room. To top it off, our room was 59 degrees when we arrived, with outside temperatures in the single digits. Why wasn't the heater on when they knew guests were coming? Inexcusable. We wouldn't stay here again.

The room was spacious and very clean, and everyone I dealt with on staff was friendly and helpful. There's free parking in a big lot, plus a seating area and complimentary breakfast. I enjoyed the whole stay.

The view was gorgeous, the room spotless, and the bed comfy. We had a warm breakfast with plenty to choose from, and the indoor pool was clean and warm. Scott at the front desk welcomed us, and we appreciated the military rate. It was our first time here and one of our best hotel stays in Erie. The wooded Cobblestone Hotel outperformed the supposedly higher-end hotel on the water where we'd stayed before. Its bar and restaurant are great, but we don't need those on-site for a getaway. Heading to Erie? I'd choose Cobblestone Hotel.

The room was great and the lakeside location was a plus. Breakfast was okay, about what I'd expect for the price, and the morning staff were much better. My complaints are the $3 charge for a bottle of water, which I haven't seen at a hotel before, and Brooke looked upset each time she helped us at the counter. They can buy water in huge cases for next to nothing.
