Escondido Lodge

Getting there was easy, right off the freeway and close to Target, the mall, restaurants, and shops. Check-in was quick, and the friendly gentleman at guest services put me on the first floor by the parking lot, so I didn’t have to haul my luggage far. The room was clean and roomy, with a comfortable king bed, a nice TV and table area, plus a microwave and refrigerator. I’d come back since the price is right. My room didn’t have an iron, though the ironing board was there, and the patched holes in the wall were an eyesore.

The price is right for an older place that’s clean and easy to reach from the freeway. We liked being near the freeway, though the construction next door could bother some people. The room had new furniture, and the air conditioning was brand new and worked really well. The man at the desk was friendly and nice. We didn’t use the pool or jacuzzi, though we saw other guests enjoying them.

I had a terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all. They made a reservation in my name, charged me for a room I never got, and then offered no help or solution. The staff were rude and couldn’t communicate in understandable English, which made the situation even worse. Charging for a service that wasn’t provided seems legally questionable and may violate consumer protection laws. It’s hard to understand how they keep getting customers. Avoid this place.

We only needed somewhere comfortable to sleep for one night in late Oct '25, and the escondido lodge worked for that. Nothing fancy, but it was a five minute drive from the escondido renfaire and not far from some good breakfast spots.
