Amberwood

The fireplace made the cabin feel especially cozy, and we loved staying there with our pup over New Year. Amberwood Cabins is in a great spot right in Estes, and the cabin has been thoughtfully updated. The bathroom is gorgeous and practical, with great water pressure. We cooked several meals in the well-stocked kitchenette, which had the basics and cookware. The staff were helpful and communicative, and left a guide with what we needed to know to be comfortable. We’d highly recommend it.

We saw moose somewhere around the area every day, and within half an hour of checking in, three wandered by and had lunch on trees nearby. They didn’t seem bothered by us watching, though we kept our distance. The house was spacious and perfect for my family’s wedding trip to Golden Canyon State Park. It sits on winding roads between Black Hawk and Golden CO, and was clearly built with care and very well maintained. We especially loved the large kitchen. We were there in September, and the weather was perfect apart from one rainy day, naturally the day of the outdoor wedding. We knew the driveway was rough ahead of time and were glad to have a jeep. Having a garage available was a plus. The neighbors were closer than we would have preferred, though we rarely saw anyone besides joggers on the road. I definitely recommend this home.

The room was clean and well appointed, and they were attentive to our needs and quick to respond. We had some internet trouble, but they made it right. Great location.

We spent four nights in cabin 7 this spring for a much-needed getaway, and it was quiet and peaceful, close to Rocky Mountain national park and Estes Park but away from the traffic and crowds. Our pet-friendly cabin was newly renovated and comfortable, and our golden doodle had a great stay with us. The hosts answered questions quickly and accommodated our requests. For simple meals, they provided what we needed, including plates, silverware, a crockpot, pots, and pans. We thought there was a grill with the cabin, but they let us know we could use the one by the lodge. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the breeze in the pines. The owners have done a great job with the property. Thank you for a great stay.
