Blue Door Inn

The front desk service was the one bright spot: the man checking us in was really friendly. But our room had dirty footprints across the floor, a weak heater, and black mold in the shower caulk. I had to fetch extra blankets for my young daughter because it was so cold. A neighbor left a dog barking in their room all evening, and the walls were so thin we woke around midnight to hear everything they were saying and doing, including adult stuff. I wanted to pack up and leave, but we turned up the TV and eventually fell asleep. At least the shower had hot water. Breakfast was okay, and the night cost under $100, so I guess we got what we paid for. We were there one night, and my family and I were very disappointed.

The front desk guy was very nice, and the fireplace was already going when we arrived, but it wouldn't shut off and the room felt over 100 degrees. We also had no working TV, so there was no watching Times Square. The old room looked patched up from earlier repairs, the shower was old with visible mold on the floor, and the toilet struggled to flush. We'd booked what was advertised as a premium suite, with a fireplace, in-room spa, and plush king bed, for a special New Year's Eve stay. The outside looked aged and poorly kept as soon as we arrived, and the room was a big disappointment. I take responsibility for not reading the reviews first. Happy New Year!

The room was on the small side, but it worked fine for me, and the price was reasonable. I was here for two nights in September to hike in the national park, and had a great stay despite being wary of reviews saying things had gone downhill. It was easy to find, the Wi-Fi worked well, and I didn't hear road noise. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and both the shower pressure and air conditioning were good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, juice, coffee, tea, bagels, muffins, oatmeal packets, and yogurt.

The breakfast was fresh, tasty, and well stocked, and our room was spotless and comfortable. The gentleman at the front desk was so kind and accommodating. We can't say enough good things about our stay at the Blue Door Inn, and we'll be back!
