McGregor Mountain Lodge

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the price was reasonable. We had a small studio cabin with a wood-burning fireplace, wood provided, a full kitchen stocked with what we needed, and a comfortable bed and sitting area. It’s near the entrance to The National Park, with a good restaurant and bar nearby and town not far away. There was plenty of wildlife, and the fall river runs close by. We especially liked that the hotel tub is reserved by time slot, so you get privacy instead of sharing with other guests. We’ll be back.

We came during a snowstorm, and it would have helped to have more snow clearing so people could get in and out, or clearer updates about when the lodge roads would be plowed. Inside, though, the place was spotless, including the sheets, and felt warm, safe, and homey. I loved the cabin feel and little fireplace, but the gorgeous view through the bay windows from the bed was my favorite part. There was everything we needed, check-in was streamlined, and the staff were sweet.

Rocky Mountain National Park is just a five-minute drive away, which made it easy to catch a sunrise. I really liked being surrounded by nature during my stay. Simon, the groundskeeper, was a gentleman and made sure I had what I needed. The wood-burning fireplace kept me happily occupied. Thank you.

The location made getting to the park entrance and Estes Village easy, just a few minutes to each. We had a lovely weekend getaway in a little cabin with a great view from the front window. Check-in was simple and the front staff were friendly. I’ve rarely stayed anywhere as clean: the floors, bed, and cooking gear were spotless. Cups, plates, utensils, and even free cookies in the lobby were there for us. The hot tub was very clean too, and reserving a time meant no crowding and made it feel more intimate. We’d recommend it and will definitely return.
