We chose Taharaa Mountain Lodge for our 8th anniversary, and it made the occasion feel special from the moment we arrived. There were flowers, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting in our room. Tobi, the concierge, was warm and professional, and owners Thad and Sandra were onsite and clearly take pride in the property. Our suite was spacious and spotless, with a jetted tub, fireplace, and a clear view of the Rocky Mountains. We could also see wildlife from the window and private deck. It felt comfortable, quiet, and private. Breakfast was delicious each morning, and dinner at the on-site Twin Owls Steakhouse meant we didn’t have to leave the property. The lodge feels secluded and peaceful but is only minutes from Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Stanley Hotel, where we went to the New Year’s Eve Crystal Ball masquerade celebration. Boulder is about 30 miles away, so getting there was easy too. We had a memorable anniversary here and would return. It’s a lovely choice for a couple’s getaway or a milestone celebration.

The property has a dreamy feel and is close to Estes village, town, and Rocky. We even noticed a couple of weddings taking place while we were there. My husband and I spent five days here for a birthday getaway in the Tahara suite. I loved the balcony for watching the sunrise, and the 7am wake-up coffee was a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was made individually from the menu we chose the day before, with no waste. The suite had two hot tubs, one inside and another outdoors. We also booked the couples stone therapy massage and used the sauna. I’d recommend both. Dinner at Twin Owls Steakhouse is a must. I found a few vegetarian choices, and my husband really enjoyed the red meat. Thanks to the staff for making our stay memorable ❤️

We hosted a welcome dinner for around 50 guests during our son’s wedding week in Estes Park, on December 3, 2025. The fresh snow and wildlife made the venue views stunning, and the food was delicious. The servers took great care of all our guests. From the planning through the evening itself, the staff at Taharaa Mountain Lodge and Twin Owls Steakhouse were wonderful. It was an event we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you for making the week so special.

The views from the lodge were fantastic, and both the room and property were clean. Everyone on staff was friendly, and we even met the owner, who made us breakfast. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely be back.

The rooms are comfortable and very nice, with great views, and parking was easy. The building is nicely constructed, and breakfast was great. It’s connected to Twin Owls steakhouse. The staff are very nice, though the service may be lighter than you expect from a “hotel,” so read the description carefully if you’re looking for lots of attention.
